Together they love Gayles Perks Coffee Shop, playing board games and the outdoors.
Together with the help of Jennifer at Belle of the Ball Designs, the awesome people at Maravilla Gardens (a stunning Camarillo Wedding Venue) and my dear friends Jen and Stephanie, we were able to put together a great set to capture so many things that Justin and Lindsay enjoy both separately and together to create the perfect setting for a surprise proposal. So hear is the scoop…Justin is one of my assistants (so some of you have probably seen him along side me at a wedding), one night while shooting we got to chatting about him buying a ring for Lindsay and the of course Jen and I wanted to hear the proposal plans! So as we talked about different ideas he was throwing around and before we knew it we had a super fun plan to totally surprise Lindsay and still be able to photograph the proposal for them! We told Lindsay that I was working on introducing styled shoots to my clients for their engagement sessions and that I wanted to use them as ‘guinea pigs’ to test out the process and see how it went and if it would be something we would want to offer to my clients. So I sent them a list of questions asking all about their favorite things both as individuals and together. We came up with 3 different concepts and presented 3 different inspiration boards to them. Together they choose the concept that included reading, photography, board games and their favorite little coffee shop. The plan was for us to shoot in the outdoor coffee shop type setup we arranged followed by a little bit of Justin serenading Lindsay. During the time that Justin was set to play his guitar, the cue for Justin to pop the question would be when we requested that he hand her a book so that she had something in her hands while he was playing….we cored out the inside of a book and put her rings inside of the book…he hands her the book, puts down his guitar and gets on one knee….and well, Im sure you can figure out the rest ;). They are getting married in less than a month at the brand new Eden Gardens in Moorpark, I cant wait for their big day!!!
