Crabby to Happy…

Saturday started off a little iffy for me…to put it gently, I was one super crabby mommy/wife.  By the time it hit 10am,  I was determined to turn my mood around and have an awesome day….and with the help of my awesome hubby, daughter, and a few friends, I did just that!  We had a great lunch date with some friends, followed by the mommy’s taking a quick pedicure break.  Nothing like a great pedicure to help cure a crappy moodicon wink Crabby to Happy....

After a little pampering I headed home to dye Easter Eggs with my family.  Our daughter, Shayna is 3 1/2 now and this was the first year she really got into and really enjoyed dying the eggs…so cool!!!  Though I have to admit my big mommy fail for the day…as we prep’d the dye we couldn’t figure out why the red tablet just wasn’t disolving.  I thought for sure it was just a bum tablet.  But, I thought, its a good thing I picked up an extra box of egg decorating stuff  just in case.   So we tore open the other tablets, I remixed the water and vinagar….and waited.  Again…it didnt disolve!?!?  I was stumpped.  Even though I was totally annoyed that I had not one but TWO bum red tablets, Shayna was completely content mixing her own color by using a few different tablets into what should have been the red and went on with the dying.  Apparently I should have read ALL the directions on the box…but really, its dying Easter eggs, how much direction reading do you think is really involved in that??!!  Well, more than you would think…or at least more than I thought…..apparently, there is a small part that I missed *use water only for red/pink dye.  OOPPS!!  Talk about mommy fail!    Lucky for me, my daughter is still young enough to not know the difference or have too much of an opinion on what color her egg’s needed to be…and she love’s me unconditionaly…even if I screw up the red dye.icon wink Crabby to Happy...

After we dyed Easter eggs we (okay I) decided to head up the street for an attempt to get a few new shots of Shayna.  She is probably the most difficult child I have ever photographed so anytime I can get her to look at the camera I’m pretty happyicon smile Crabby to Happy...

After some much needed and very therapeutic family time.  We went to a friends house for a little BBQ where we were blessed to be surrounded by some great friends and had a spectacular time.

I think that sometimes in all the chaos and busyness of our lives its too easy to take for granted all the important people in our lives.  We have been making an extra effort lately to spend more time enjoying our family and all of the wonderful people that have been brought into our lives.  I love to spend time and catch up with old friends while leaving the chaos of  our everyday lives behind for a few hours.  It truly makes me very happy and we have every intention of continuing to step away from the chaos to just be a family, to just be friends and to just be us.  For those of you who equally live a chaotic and busy life, I very highly recommend taking some time out to just enjoy the people that you are blessed to be surrounded by…it is worth every minute, very therapeutic, and truly brings so much happiness into your life.

From our family to yours…we hope you have a wonderful Easter surrounded by loved onesicon smile Crabby to Happy...

heather - Okay, count me in for some friend time. ;)
So funny… I must have read your blog post much more thoroughly than the egg decorating instructions because I too had red clumps floating in my non-red dye. I ended up adding food coloring. I’ll have to remember that for next year! Love the pics of Shayna in her new dress! Sooo cute! Kaylie wore hers today already too.
