Jasmine Star….The Workshop

Yesterday I had the wonderful pleasure of attending the very first Jasmine Star Workshop!  I have been stalking following Jasmine’s Blog for a very long time now.  I absolutely adore her work, her style and her awesome ability to really connect with both her clients and her blog readers.  I always said that when she started doing workshop’s I was going to be all over that!  Sooooo of course, when she announced her first workshop I jumped on the opportunity to attend..well, actually, I did hesitate a little….for like a whole 30 seconds.

When we arrived to the workshop we were greeted by the ever fabulous Jasmine Star and her equally fabulous husband JD.  They had an awesome spread set up for all of us with a very thoughtful, personal note for each of us from Jasmine (soooo sweet).  I can only imagine that Jasmine’s nerves were a little on edge being that this was her first official workshop, but you would have never guessed.  She was calm, cool, collected, funny and of course fabulous.  We spent our day  learning about business, branding, and style, we had a great shoot with Brittany and Zach, followed by a little bit of post production time and some Q&A.  Oh and there was of course some yummy lunch and dinner mixed inicon smile Jasmine Star....The Workshop.  I can honestly say that I left the workshop feeling inspired, encouraged, re-energized and full of some awesome ideas and plans for the future of Photography By Charise.

Make up and hair provided by the uber talented Vivian Tran of All Made Up Team.  If you are in the Orange County, LA County or San Diego County and in need of hair and/or make-up stlying you should defintely give Vivian a call.

Lynn - Hi Charise,
These pictures are breathtaking. Absolutely gorgeous! I was wondering if you’d share which actions you used on these pictures…mainly the second photo down (only the bride and grooms bodies showing)and the last sequence of three photos of the bride and groom. Also, was that last sequence taken with the 50 1.2 at 1.2? Thank you and again, BEAUTIFUL pictures!

Jacky Arnold - Hey Charise!!! Your work is AMAZING!! I am a new photographer, and I just wanted to tell you that I truly admire your work! I was wondering if you had any tips, or suggestions for me to use? I have a nikon D90, and I absolutely love it!! I just feel like i haven’t unleashed my full potential yet with it though! I know all the “book” definitions of photography, I just have a hard time putting it to good use (i guess thats a good way to describe it). I have looked for tutorials online, and I have yet to find any really amazing ones. I am also having a few problems with my workflow after I am done with a shoot. I do have photoshop, but I mainly know how to use that for web design (i am a web design student). =)

any websites, tips or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! I just feel like I am so lucky to have found your website, because your style is EXACTLY what i am looking to learn!

I hope you have a wonderful day! And I look forward to hearing from you soon.
